Birth is a life changing event that is often interrupted and bullied by westernized views of how we "think" birth should look like. My goal is to give you tools to make your own informed decisions about your pregnancy & birth. Every mother deserves to have a birthing experience that leaves her feeling powerful, confident, and capable. All About Me
Who I Am
My name is Sydney Taylor. I am a RN, BSN, wife, mother, and north Idaho native. When I am not working or homemaking, I enjoy gardening, hiking, fishing, and homesteading! My experience as a registered nurse ranges from pediatrics and IV infusions, to aesthetics. I have always been passionate about mother & baby care and making women feel confident in themselves. After the birth of my son I decided to become a doula and student midwife. I have had an unmedicated/ no intervention hospital birth and most recently an unassisted home birth. My area of specialty is unmedicated births, though due to my experience in the medical field I am capable of caring for a wide variety of births in any kind of birth setting.
Pregnancy
Most of my clients reach out to me during their 2nd trimester. I routinely see mamas for interviews around 6 or 7 months. If you choose to hire me, I will meet up with you regularly throughout your second & third trimester. At our meetings we will discuss your birth plan, I will educate you on topics such as physiological birth and breastfeeding, as well as equip you with coping skills to rock your labor and postpartum.
Labor & Delivery
Clients have access to me 24/7 as their due date approaches. Every woman has a different idea of what they want for their birth/ birth space to look like. I am there to advocate for you and support you & your partner each step of the way. After you meet that sweet baby, I will leave you and your family to soak in all those newborn snuggles. I will be available for 2 weeks postpartum for any questions or concerns. I also offer a home-cooked nourishing meal of your choice during this time.
